Household Items:

Many of our consumers are moved into housing units with little or no possessions. Because we have very limited storage at our center, we are not able to accept clothing and household items. We ask that you direct those donations to the Salvation Army or the City Mission. We depend on those same organizations to supply our needs. Items we can use are things like TVs, clock radios, DVD or CD players, etc. These represent near necessities for consumers who may spend more time their homes because of limited mobility or recent adjustment to an independent lifestyle. These devices greatly assist in providing entertainment and information as they connect with the community. We are also happy to accept donations of “door bells” or “phone ringers” ( light strobes) for our deaf and hard of hearing consumers.

Donation of Time or Services

We are grateful for all in kind gifts of time, services, and expertise. Let us know the nature of your non cash donation, and we will endeavor to put it to good use for the people we serve. A good example of such a donation is the labor, materials, and expertise involved in building ramps or making home modifications to make homes accessible. We are always in need of someone who can help us teach our consumers important life skills as they ease into independent living, such as cooking, craft, math, and computer skills.

Volunteers are always welcome. If you are able to give your time for periodic events and fundraisers, please contact our Donations group for more details.
